Install zsh on ubuntu with rvm/rbenv


Setup ZSH as your default terminal with oh-my-zsh

Install ZSH

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install zsh

ZSH tutorial pdf link

Setup oh-my-zsh

wget –no-check-certificate https://github.com/robbyrussell/oh-my-zsh/raw/master/tools/install.sh -O – | sh

Make ZSH default

chsh -s /bin/zsh

Restart your system.

If you are rails developer:
and if you use rbenv, run these commands:


$ echo 'export PATH="$HOME/.rbenv/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.zshenv
$ echo 'eval "$(rbenv init -)"' >> ~/.zshenv
$ echo 'source $HOME/.zshenv' >> ~/.zshrc
$ exec $SHELL

if you use RVM, run these commands:
Add the following line at the end of your .zshrc file.

[[ -s “$HOME/.rvm/scripts/rvm” ]] && . “$HOME/.rvm/scripts/rvm”

install zshell on ubuntu, with rvm
zsh with rbenv
